The Cerulean Information Factory (CIF) provides tools and capabilities that can assist marine industries in supporting a transition to a more sustainable future.
The CIF project is part of the ESA “Green Transition Information Factories” (GTIF) initiative.
The CIF Dashboard provides tools for information visualization and interaction.
Driving the information in the dashboard is the Polar TEP ecosystem of information technologies for:
- Information discovery and interaction,
- Programming and processing,
- Data storage, management, and access.
The Destination Earth Sea Ice Decision Enhancement service (DESIDE) is an operational service within Destination Earth.
DESIDE supports policy and decision making at three levels within the context of polar operations:
- Execution support: supporting ships needing to avoid or navigate through sea ice.
- Planning support: supporting ship operators in planning for polar voyages, guided by the information requirements of the IMO Polar Code.
- Strategy and policy support: supporting organizations and policy analysts wanting to assess the impact of climate change on future decisions regarding polar operations.
